That's what Jeff says to me on occasion. My response is, "Sorry, I understand all those words, but not in the order you're using them." Here's a list of my (many) favorites. You'd think we had enough to look through....you would be wrong. I'm always checking more out from the library (a great resource) and then buying the ones I just can't live without....it's like I knew someday I'd need recipes for 60 different pies!

Who could live without these?

  • Chez Panisse Desserts (Lindsey Revmolif Shere)

  • Magpie (Holly Ricchiardi)

  • The Perfect Pie (America's Test Kitchen)

  • Pure Dessert and Bittersweet (both by Alice Medrich)

  • The Book on Pie (Erin Jeanne McDowell)

  • The Art of the Pie (Kate McDermott)

  • Baking With Less Sugar (Joanne Chang)

  • Pie - 300 Tried and True Recipes (Ken Haedrich)

(More books to come, no doubt)

Ok, my question is: what are you going to do with all those pies? Eat them yourself (with Jeff o course)? Share them? Or…..?

Replying to

When we thought up MAKING 60 pies, we somehow never conceived of then EATING sixty pies, just the two of us! (Oops.) So we'll be sharing. Certainly any folks who come visit us (consider that a hint, Carrie!) will participate in the bounty. We also have an idea for a combination wine tasting/pie party where pie will be both dinner (savory) and dessert (sweet) and that way we may be able to create a month's worth of pies in just one day....
